FAQ

Frequently asked questions related to this project.

The funding has been secured and invested for this specific project which means it can’t be spent on anything else.

The Ardoch Development Trust is committed to investing in the local communities to improve opportunities to choose to walk, cycle or wheel, which is aligned with national transport policy.

Thank you for looking at the project now you know about it. Each design stage includes different advertising methods like leaflets, project links, flyers and community engagement events. Due to the project being in the early concept stages. full commitment to the project uncertain.

Projects are approved by Councillors before funding is sought for the next design stage. Once the full design is complete, Councillors will make a decision if funding should be sought for project construction.

As a project progresses, there will be more opportunities for the community to provide feedback up to and including the detailed design stage.

The cost will depend on the final design. In the early stages of the design process, the design is not developed enough for detailed costings. It is likely that the final construction cost will be in the region of ~£80,000

There is no certainty that any design will be built until technical design has been completed and funding for construction has been secured. However, if you want to see something built here in the future, your support at this stage is vital to support future funding applications for the project.

The shuttleworking system is required to ensure users of the scheme can safely cross the bridges, whilst minimising impact to the surrounding environment.

Due to the development being in the early stages, confirmation by the PKC will be required, however most likely yes.

PKC wont accept or support a new bridge being constructed along the route, their support is crucial to ensuring the project progresses into the next stages.

Network Rail and the PKC have both strongly discouraged the change of the existing bridges. For both cost and time efficiency this is unviable.
